The latest Republican to RSVP for microphone time during a daylong GOP speech-fest in Iowa later this month: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst.
Ernst will attend the Iowa Freedom Summit, organized by Iowa U.S. Rep. Steve King and the conservative organization Citizens United, on Saturday, Jan. 24, organizers said Tuesday morning. Tickets are sold out for the the event at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines.
Ernst joins a long list of Republican possible 2016 presidential hopefuls who have RSVP’ed for King’s event, including Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina, as well as other well-known Republicans, such as former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and Utah Sen. Mike Lee.
