Examiner.com: Sarah Palin headed for Iowa Freedom Summit, fueling political speculation

The Des Moines Register reported on Monday that former Alaska Governor and past vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will attend the Iowa Freedom Summit to take place in Des Moines on January 24. The summit is a joint effort by Rep. Steve King, a Republican, and Citizen’s United. A number of other conservative illumenatos are attending, including Sen.Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and others.

The Iowa Freedom Summit will be an opportunity for conservative activists to hear speeches from the guests on a wide range of subjects, including, “conservative principles of pro-growth economics, social conservatism, and a strong national defense. It will also serve as an opportunity for the guests to kiss the ring of Rep. King, who has increasingly become regarded as a Republican “kingmaker” for candidates seeking to run in the 2016 Presidential elections, starting with the Iowa Caucuses in just over a year.

The National Journal suggests that Ted Cruz has the inside track to gain King’s blessing. Cruz has been cultivating the powerful congressman ever since he was elected to the Senate. Both seem to be ideological soul mates.
